My niece requested a Skye doll from the show Paw Patrol. There are some patterns available for purchase but none that seemed like they really looked like Skye so I free handed this project. She ended up a little bigger (and top heavy) than I expected but I'm pretty pleased with how she turned out. I did not create this character, but I did create this crocheted doll of the character.
Here are some in-progress pictures!
Thanks for taking a look!

Do you have a pattern for this?
ReplyDeleteNo, sorry.
DeleteThis is the best one I have seen, I was going to make it for my 3 year old granddaughter for Christmas, this is her favorite. I'm going to try to look at the pictures and duplicate it, the ears and nose I'm going to have to study. Thank you.
DeleteThe snout is basically a cone shape, then the nose is embroidered on with yarn and a yarn needle. To make the ears... begin by making 3 small cup shapes. I started with a magic ring, then working in a spiral, in the round, increasing until it was about 8-10 stitches then stop increasing and add maybe 3 rows until you have what looks like an itty bitty tiny hat. Once you have 3 of these cup shapes you connect them. check out my Polka Dot Headband http://katiecooksandcrafts.blogspot.com/2014/04/simple-polka-dot-headband.html video to see sort of how I connected them. I worked sc into each st along the top half, then joined on the next cup, worked along the upper half of that cup, then joined on the third cup, then sc all the way around that cup. At this point you are back to the center cup, continue sc around that cup and the first cup. Then continue spiraling to make the body of the ear. I increased to make the ears full and puffy, then when they were about 2/3 the total length that I wanted I started drastically decreasing for the last 3rd of the total length. They are sewn onto the head near the top but also tacked down on the sides of Skye's face. I hope all these notes are helpful. Let me know if you have any other questions.
DeleteWOW! I wanted to buy some Paw Patrol toys for my kids, but them seems to be sold out in Finland. Now I consider could I do them by myself...
